Both have an external portion which hides behind the ear and a very thin tube or wire that delivers the signal to the ear. Both can leave the ear canal substantially to preserve the natural resonance of the ear canal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"260\" height=\"141\" src=\"https:\/\/glacierentclinic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/BTE.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1562\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"behind-the-ear-bte\">Behind-the-ear (BTE)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A BTE sets over the ear and has a tube which conducts the sound into the ear canal. It is recommended for severe to profound hearing losses, those with certain medical issues of the ear or children who are growing rapidly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"260\" height=\"141\" src=\"https:\/\/glacierentclinic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/CIC.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1561\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"completely-in-the-canal-cic\">Completely-in-the-canal (CIC)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>CIC\u2019s fit entirely into the ear canal with only a small removal filament resting in the outer ear.
